Let’s jump right in and talk about the 5 things you should definitely double check before launching your website. You’ll definitely want to save this to refer back to later.
Have you ever been to a website on your phone that just looks like it struggles? Maybe you can’t see the whole page at once and have to scroll side to side while reading, or to see a whole image. Or sometimes everything is just overlapping trying to squeeze into the space. It’s not a super pleasant user experience. If you’re like me, that can feel frustrating to navigate so you maybe just jump ship and decide to shop somewhere else. Just being honest here.
Your website should be able to transition seamlessly between devices, providing an awesome experience in every circumstance. It’s not going to look exactly the same on a phone as it does on a desktop, and that’s by design. This is set up based on research and what converts best on mobile devices.
Sidenote: all of my Shopify Templates are mobile friendly, so they are set up to convert on both desktop and mobile.
I have created literally hundreds of websites, and this is still an issue I am always fixing before the launch of a ton of my websites. It’s so easy to forget to add a link to a button, or to add the wrong link. Before you hit that Publish button, just do a quick run through the whole website and test all the links. You’ll thank me later.
Your visitors should never have to scroll even a little bit to find out what your product or service is. Your business is great, your product is needed, your service is important, and it should stay front and center.
Okay. Spelling is so annoying, right? Sometimes my fingers move faster than my brain, and even though I know better, words end up misspelled without me even noticing. Protip: come back to edit at least a few hours after you have created your content. If the words are fresh on your mind, it’s easy to read them as you intended for them to be instead of as they actually are.
Shopify is so great and lets you optimize every single product and page on your website individually, to make Google love you. It can’t get easier than that.
If you’ve double checked all the items on this list, you’re good to go! Hit that Publish button, and make those sales! You deserve it!
