I love answering your questions on tiktok. Here is my response to one small shop on what to do about abandoned checkouts.
Abandoned checkouts are seriously the worst, here’s a few tips on how to recover them.
This first way I’m going to show you is just what’s built in to Shopify. And for some stores this works great, for others you’ll want to use the next thing I’m going to talk to you about. But for this one, you just:
This will email anyone who has abandoned their checkout with their email address, and hopefully recover that sale for you.
Another great option is to use an app. I have personally used Carti Abandoned Cart recovery, and it’s a free version, which is great. Except for I did find that you need to customize the verbiage *a lot*.
Here are some other apps that can help you to recover a sale:
Parachute
Recart (this one is pricier, but worth the investment)
Moonmail

We never really know exactly what makes somebody decide not to follow through with their order. It helps if you offer an incentive to buyers who come back to their abandoned card. This could be a small free product, or a percentage off their purchase.
