I'm here to help you build a bold brand and website to help you achieve game-changing results.
Hey, I'm Erika!
If you own a business on Shopify and you don’t have a favicon, you need to change that! (I mean that in the nicest way) Here’s how…
What is a favicon?
FIRST we need to talk about what a favicon even is. A favicon is the little tiny image in the corner of your tabs. It helps with brand recognition, and helps your business look more legit…I’m too old to say legit. Sorry.
How to create a favicon for your brand.
Head to canva and login.
Click create design in the top right corner.
Click Custom Size and do 500 x 500.
Hopefully when your brand got designed you got a lot of submarks. But if not, you can just create something right here. This should be either just your business’s initials with your branded font, or if you have a cute little graphic that you use on your branding. Once you’ve either created something, or pasted your submark here, just play with the size a little but.
When you’re done, just download it as a PNG. Sometimes I like to do a transparent background (just check that box when you download), but that’s totally up to you.
Next, head to your Shopify customizer and scroll all the way down to Themes Settings on the bottom left.
Click on Favicon
Click Select an Image and upload your new favicon design.
Done! There she is in all her glory!
Why is a favicon even important?
Read my post about how visual branding builds trust here. Your customers should be able to recognize your brand at a glance, so you’ve got to dress your website up top to bottom. I also love being able to quickly change between tabs, without having to click through every single tab, trying to find what I’m looking for. Am I the only one who does that?? Having a favicon makes it super easy for your customers to know right where they’re going, and keep all the good vibes flowing.
