I'm here to help you build a bold brand and website to help you achieve game-changing results.
Hey, I'm Erika!
Three mistakes I see business owners make on shopify all of the time, and how to fix them, from a Shopify developer.
Sloooooow load time
The first mistake I see is people having slow websites. So an easy fix for that is to go in and delete all of your old themes. You do this by clicking on Online Shop from the menu to the left of your dashboard. You’ll see all your old themes (Debut, Dawn, etc.) listed there, with a drop down box next to them. Just drop down and click Delete next to the themes you’re not using anymore. Done!
Also, you’re going to want to make sure you’re compressing your images every time so that they’re not taking up too much space. You can read more about that on my post about 3 ways to help your Shopify site run faster.
Brand your checkout page!
Another mistake I see all of the time is not editing your checkout page. And this is a problem because it creates a disconnect between your branding and where they’re actually giving you their money.
To fix this, go to your customizer and go to the Checkout page (via the dropdown box at the top of the screen), and add all your colors and logo.
Giant walls of text
And third, giant walls of text. Instead, try accordion questions and answers so that the answers can be hidden under the question and they don’t have to sift through a bunch of wording. You can learn more about that on my post: Say no to giant walls of text!
Fixing these three issues on your website will give you a much more professional look, which builds trust, which helps your conversion rates to climb. Check back soon for more tips on how to have a killer online shop with Shopify!
