I'm here to help you build a bold brand and website to help you achieve game-changing results.
Hey, I'm Erika!
I’m Erika and I help small businesses make sense of Shopify! Today I’m going to tell you how to make a new page layout and actually assign it to a page so it shows up.
Adding Pages on Shopify 2.0
The first thing you’re going to want to do is go to your Dashboard and click on Online Shop from the menu on the left.
Then click on Customize next to your published page.
Once that loads, go to the dropdown box at the top of the page where it says Home Page.
Go down to where it says Pages and click that arrow.
From there click on Create Template, and just name it whatever you want. (You could use “test” while you’re still working on figuring it out!) and then you’ll do Based On…and choose which page you’d like it to be based on (about, contact, faqs, etc.) and click Create Template.
Now it will have copied everything from your current page, including the layout. All you need to do is edit all of the images and content, and make this page completely it’s own.
Once the page is exactly how you want it, just click on Save!
Exit the customizer via the button on the top left, and head back to your Dashboard.
Click on Pages under Online Shop in the menu on the left.
Create a new page by clicking Add a Page.
Next you’ll just need a title, you don’t need any content because that was in the customizer. And then you’ll go over to the dropdown box on the right where it says Theme Template and choose Test (or whatever you decided to name your new template).
Done! Enjoy your new page! (And don’t forget to add it to your navigation so your clients can access it too!)
