How to add a favicon to match your brand.
Today I’m going to show you how to replace the icon that appears in your browser’s tabs, so that it matches your branding. To do this you’ll just…
Go to your online store dashboard by clicking on ‘Online Store’ from the menu at the left side of your screen.
Click on the ‘Customize’ button next to your theme.
And then just click on ‘Theme Settings’ from the bottom of the menu on the left side.
From there, click on ‘Favicon’ and you can upload a little image.
Once that’s uploaded, just be sure to click on the ‘Save’ button in the top right corner of the screen.
And then you can refresh your page, and there she is!
Look how cute that is, and it also really finishes off the branded look.
What do I use as a favicon?
If you’re not sure what to use as your favicon image, I’ve got you! Check out my post on How to Make Your Website Stand Out, where I talk about how important branding is. I teach you all about logos and submarks, and where to use them. For a favicon, I really like using submarks. A submark is basically a condensed version of your logo. It can be just a graphic, a shape, initials, or even just a smaller version of your main logo, if it’s already pretty basic. Just make sure it’s something your clients will recognize right away when they see it, and you’re golden.
