As an online business owner, have you taken time to learn about SEO (search engine optimization)? Do you have keyword-rich descriptions for each of your individual pages and products on Shopify?
If you have a website on Shopify, you’re going to want to make sure you do this to all of your pages and your products. OKAY, back to editing your site.
To add an SEO description to your pages:
- Click ‘Online Store’ on the left side of your dashboard. Another list of links will appear underneath – click ‘Pages’ and select the page you want to edit.
- Click on ‘Edit SEO’ and change the page title if you need to.
- Add a description that will be easy to read and let people know exactly what you’re selling.
- Don’t forget to click save when you’re done! The button will turn green the second you start making changes.
- Repeat as needed for each of the pages on your website.
To add SEO descriptions to your products:
- Click ‘Products’ on the left side of your dashboard. You’ll automatically be taken to your whole list of products.
- Select the product you’re ready to edit.
- Scroll to the very bottom of the page, you’ll see the automatically generated SEO description.
- Click ‘Edit Website SEO’ and replace the automatically generated words with your own, keyword-rich description.
- Don’t forget to click save when you’re done!
- Repeat as needed for all of the products on your website.
This will help people be able to find you easier when they’re searching on a search engine, and using your key words. I promise you, it’s totally worth the few extra minutes it takes you.
