Your online shop has so much to offer, but it can be tough not being able to look your visitors in the eye and make them happy. People can leave your website as quickly as they came there, and our goal is to keep them there and convert them into paying customers. Are you ready for my six favorite tips that your customers will love about you?
Remember when just having a website was good enough? Like, if a company didn’t have a website, they were clearly a scam and you needed to run the other way. But if they DID have a website, they were definitely legit. Wellllll something happened and here we are in 2021, and when a business doesn’t have a social presence, they’re definitely waiting to prey on unsuspecting people like you.
Okay okay, there is a slight exaggeration here. Kind of. But joking aside, your customers love seeing proof that your business is for real. Social media is actually kind of the best. Free advertising, tons of unsolicited reviews, personal interaction with people who are ready to buy your product. The peace of mind you’re giving your customers is just the icing on the cake.
I don’t know about you, but I’m always more quick to buy the $50 pumps with free shipping than I am the $45 pumps with $5 shipping. How does that even make any sense? Studies show that the majority of people think like me! So do what you have to do to make it possible, and give your customers the free shipping they’re hunting for.
Start by telling your customers the whole story! People love to know the inside scoop. What do you love about this product? How did you come up with it? What happened in your life that caused a need for this product? Then spend a lot of time explaining the benefits of your product. Use bold fonts in important places, so people can do a quick scan and get the highlights. It’s really important that as you’re telling your story, you talk to your customers like they’re standing there with you. Don’t try to fancy up your vocabulary. People like to feel like they know you.
This seems like a given. But sometimes it’s just not clear what “easy” means to most people. So lets make it real clear.
Okay, this is a big one. You WILL have customers who don’t even read your description. They see a picture, they like, they buy. Done. Don’t you love those?? Well you won’t love them when they end up with something they weren’t expecting, and reach out with concerns. Your photos should make clear the size, color, and uses of the product you’re sending.
Once again, it’s 2021, and we don’t have time to wait around for your pages to load. Make sure you’re taking all the steps to keep your load time down, and your conversions up! Watch your plugins, optimize your images, and if you’re really struggling, hire somebody to take a look (I’ve got you, girl!)
You have everything it takes to have the business of your dreams! Just keep these things in mind to elevate your web space, and convert those visitors into paying customers. You’ve totally got this, I promise!
